The Project Future4Leopards is an initiative that has been set up by a group of senior Iranian biologists and conservationists. Based in the Wildlife Conservation Research Unit (WildCRU), which is part of the Department of Zoology at the University of Oxford, the Project works closely with Iran’s Department of the Environment, from national to local levels. Panthera, the international NGO devoted to saving the big cats, has provided much of the equipment we use. The Faculty of Natural Resources of the University of Tehran also assists the Project with laboratory genetic investigations.
Also in Iran, the Wildlife Pictures Institute (WPI), an independent organization that produces documentaries, is partnering with Future4Leopards to produce wildlife movies. Eram Zoo in Tehran contributes to the Project by providing veterinary services. Biodiversity Design and Infogram, two Iranian private foundations, also assist the Project with graphic design and website development.
