An exceptional night for guests in Tandoureh

The Future4Leopards Foundation hosted two nationally renowned actor and TV host, Reza Kianian and Saman Golriz in Tandoureh National Park in early March 2022. The event was organized to celebrate the World Wildlife Day on 3 March to elaborate the profile of Tandoureh National Park, and obviously its wonderful leopards, among local people and authorities.
The visit started with a meeting at Khorasan Razavi Bureau of Iran Department of Environment in which regional authorities welcomed the guests to Tandoureh, followed by a visit to the Natural History Museum. Then, the guests attended a local even, organized by group of local photographers to hear the speech made by the governor and to acknowledge the wonderful job rangers have been doing to protect Tandoureh.
In the evening, they paid a visit to Tandoureh National Park, seeing a few of places we used for trapping leopards during our collaring operation between 2013 and 2016. On their way back to the gueshouse inside the park, they encountered everel wild cats, stone marten, foxes and hundreds of bezoar goat. Nonetheless, the visit climaxed after seeing 3 different groups of leopards, totalling 5 different individuals in 1 km of driving in Tandoureh. That was an exceptional night for everyone, including our guests, which was later widely shared on social media and news agencies, both locally and nationally, which brought unprecedented level of attention to Tandoureh National Park.
