An exceptional night for guests in Tandoureh

The Future4Leopards Foundation hosted two nationally renowned actor and TV host, Reza Kianian and Saman Golriz in Tandoureh National Park in early March 2022. The event was organized to celebrate the World Wildlife Day on 3 March to elaborate the profile of Tandoureh National Park, and obviously its wonderful leopards, among local people and authorities. It is unbelievable to see herds of red deer and roe deer among cattle grazing inside a forest, but that is true for a small forest landscape in high elevations of northern Iran. A leopard rescued by rangers

Northeastern Iran is a hotspot for human-leopard conflict, with many cases of leopard depredation on domestic animals, and retaliation by people. However, this time both leopards and humans were lucky. Rangers were called in that a leopard is chased by shepherd dogs. Upon arrival, the leopard was seen surrounded by a few dogs, although barking, but were not trying to kill the animal. Fortunately, the leopard managed to escape.
