You may remember the curious leopard on top of a mining truck, last year in eastern Iran. The good news, or perhaps a bad news for locals, is that she is not alone anymore. Another leopard, seemingly an adult male was also spotted in the same area recently. The animal spotted when on-looking a village. There are also rumours of a family, including cubs, but yet has to be confirmed.
The area is now heavily transformed by mining activities, and is far becoming a nature reserve. However, even with boosted human activities, prey speices such as urial sheep still exist in nearby mountains. It is not surprising to see now a small population of Persian leopards which seemingly breed.
So far, several training sessions have been organized for miners and workers living in the area, while educational signs have been put in place. Also, the situation is closely monitored to take any additional actions in case needed. Nonetheless, this has been undoubtedly an incredible example of coexistence in an area which has been massive altered by human activities.
