An epic moment of encountering a wild leopard
Many people are passionate about leopards, but far less are lucky enough to encounter a Persian leopard in the wild. In late September 2018, a group of hikers, led by Arash Moodi who used to be a volunteer at Future4Leopards Foundation came into an epic momentum, face-to-face with a Persian leopard in Tandoureh National Park. You can watch and enjoy this exciting encounter here.
The Persian leopard is an endangered high-altitude predator species occurring in west Asia, most notably Iran where at least 500 individuals exist. Tandoureh National Park, in northeastern Iran is considered a hotspot for Persian leopards and their spectacular wild prey species such as urial and ibex.
