Get to know Touraj

Time has passed since Borna and Bardia were roaming rugged mountains of Tandoureh National Park. The old Bardia was found dead last year, while Borna’s body was spotted in September 2017. Recently, a new male leopard has made the vacant valleys of central Tandoureh his home, or better to say, home range. His name is Touraj, after the general manager of Department of Environment, who first spotted him last summer.
Touraj is now quite famous in Tandoureh and has been seen by our field crew on a few occasions. The area, in which he has resided, is perhaps one of the most prey-rich parts of the park. Bardia which used to live there, had a land tenure of at least 8 years. So, fingers are crossed for Touraj for a long and prosperous life in Tandoureh National Park.
